Instructions


Add the ingredients in the order listed. 

  •  Heat the oil, low heat, to saute the garlic for 1 minute 
  • Add the onions. Saute for 2 minutes till soft. 
  • Add the tomatoes. Saute for 2 minutes more
  • Add the kale.  Season with paprika.
  •  Mix well. Saute for 1 minute more, then put aside. 
  • Beat the eggs. Add the milk and cheese. Season with salt and pepper 
  • In a buttered deep baking pot, layer the filler; the kale, onion, and tomatoes (you can add smoked salmon, sausage, or anything you like in this step).​
  • Carefully pour the egg mixture over the kale
  • Bake for 35- 40 minutes at 375 degrees
  • Let sit 15 minutes before cutting.
  • Enjoy!


​I like to prepare this kind of tarts and pies because of the dense, low calories nutrients they possess. They are great as a snack in the middle of the day or even for breakfast. As lunch option, put it together with a salad or with a hearty vegetable soup for a complete low-carb meal. ​​

Serves: 4-6


Ingredients

2 Tbsp olive oil
1 clove of garlic, minced
1/2 cup diced onion

½ cup chopped tomatoes

2 cups steamed kale


4 whole eggs 
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup white fresh cheese (about 4 oz.)

1/3 cup cilantro, chopped

1/2 tsp of paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
